Fantastic $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Is a Online Gaming Game Master's Fantasy

Following a short availability back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned with an encore that lasts through early December. Described as an extensive collection of mapping tools developed by ProFantasy Software over the years, the complete package carries a value of over $1,300. Additionally, there exist multiple package options available here.

Primary Feature

The big draw is definitely permanent access to the CC3+ software, a professional-grade cartography program that can be used to generate various types including epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and, perhaps most importantly, tactical combat environments.

A regional fantasy map generated in Campaign Cartographer 3+.

Package Levels

Basic Package

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Monster Token Pack 1, Castle Source Maps, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for existing CC3+ users, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen aerial castle designs with 470 associated map tokens, eight fully mapped cities, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Intermediate Package

The eight-product collection for at least $15 offers enhanced value through inclusion of permanent CC3+ access, the first Annual volume, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the annual collection from ProFantasy's long-running monthly subscription service which includes multiple CC3+ enhancements including map packs and various other tools. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from all sides. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

All 17 volumes from the Annual series are included here, alongside a slew of additional tools and content enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or focus exclusively on classic fantasy realm creation: combat arenas, underground complexes, cities, and land masses from almost any perspective. You can even design character portraits. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle offers tremendous value, especially for cartographers with temporary CC3+ access seeking permanent licensing. But it's obviously an even better deal for cartography beginners since it includes introductory guides to help you get started. The sole limitation though you can redeem the deal across platforms, the applications only function with Windows systems.

Philanthropic Aspect

As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale supports charitable organizations. For this one, that's Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 focused on improving the lives of children worldwide via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. The Bundle Filters option appear near the page top, though users may also choose any amount for a donation on the right side of the page. Additionally available is an donation allocation menu just below that, enabling adjustment of the distribution percentage allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
