Correspondence Highlight Jeffrey Epstein and former Trump strategist Relationship

Steve Bannon
Bannon was one of the former president's closest strategists before resigning from the White House in August 2017

In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK to deliver a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists slowed down my talk I doubt I can catch the flight we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a Gulf Air departing at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing helper".

These exchanges were released on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the House oversight committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. Media outlets has been able to establish his identity by cross-referencing the timeline, occurrences, and places referenced.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from the UK for the redacted user in the messages, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and delivered the talk at the Oxford two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's closest advisers in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but stepped down from the White House in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a film about Epstein prior to his passing and reportedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his podcast earlier this year, he stated: "We're going to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - early next year."

But the newly released documents indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a aide.

A short time prior to the exchange in which Epstein seemed to booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

UK Politics Discussed in Exchanges

The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the day of his speech at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit thing this day with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to Theresa May, the embattled UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "The guys are attempting to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as long as you can uk. Best-- so people get the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa May survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the people over here have no balls" and added "Boris ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - someone has to take charge".

May was finally removed in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A representative for the political party told media: "Nigel Farage has never been in a gathering with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter took place.

The US House of Representatives will vote next week on whether the justice department should release all its files concerning its probe into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was reignited this week after the publication of more than 20,000 pages from his archives.

A portion of those mentioned the former president, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the 2000s, a couple of years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
